Prioritize Topics

There are 4 types of recommendations in this category; Power Pages, High Growth Pages, Quick Win Topics, and High Potential Pages.

Power Pages

Power pages refers to pages with topics that have a significant share of site traffic. MarketMuse helps you identify these opportunities to create new content.

Identifying Power Pages

  1. Power Pages List: Topics with the highest share of site traffic appear at the top of the list.
  2. Business Alignment Check: Assess each item in the list to determine its continued importance and priority regarding your business goals.

Evaluation Process

  1. Topic Analysis: Analyze each topic to determine if it’s a:
    • Direct Match: The topic is the main focus of the URL. Continue optimizing your page for this topic to maintain relevance.
    • Adjacent Topic: The topic is related to, but not the primary focus of, the top-ranking URL. Create a new page.
  2. Assess Cluster: Click the “Assess Cluster” icon in the action bar to check for competing pages.

Create a New Page

Go back to All Inventory. Click the Optimize Page & Topic icon in the Action Bar to send it to Optimize. 

  • Remove the URL from the search bar in Optimize
  • Remove the contents of the page from the editor so you can start fresh.

High Growth Pages

High growth pages refers to pages with significant estimated traffic that has increased since the last inventory update. MarketMuse helps you identify these opportunities to create new content.

Identifying High Growth Pages

  1. High Growth Pages List: Pages with the highest monthly change in traffic appear at the top of the list,
  2. Business Alignment Check: Assess each item in the list to determine its continued importance and priority regarding your business goals.

Evaluation Process

  1. Prioritize Topics: For important pages, click the “Prioritize Topics” icon in the action bar. This will display the topics the page ranks for, along with their current search performance.
  2. Topic Analysis: Analyze each topic to determine if it’s a:
    • Direct Match: The topic is the main focus of the URL. Continue optimizing your page for this topic to maintain relevance.
    • Adjacent Topic (Expand): The topic is related to, but not the primary focus of, the top-ranking URL. Enhance your existing page with a paragraph or section thoroughly covering the adjacent topic.
  3. Assess Cluster: Click the “Assess Cluster” icon in the action bar to check for competing pages.

Create a New Page

Go back to All Inventory. Click the Optimize Page & Topic icon in the Action Bar to send it to Optimize. 

  • Remove the URL from the search bar in Optimize
  • Remove the contents of the page from the editor so you can start fresh.

Quick Win Topics

Quick win topics refers to those with decent Topic Authority, acceptable Personalized Difficulty and rank. MarketMuse helps you identify these opportunities to optimize existing pages or create new content.

Identifying Quick Wins Topics

  1. Quick Win Topics List: Topics with the lowest Personalized Difficulty appear at the top of the list,
  2. Business Alignment Check: Assess each item in the list to determine its continued importance and priority regarding your business goals.

Evaluation Process

  1. Topic Analysis: Analyze each topic to determine if it’s a:
    • Direct Match: The topic is the main focus of the URL. Continue optimizing your page for this topic to maintain relevance.
    • Adjacent Topic (Expand): The topic is related to, but not the primary focus of, the top-ranking URL. Enhance your existing page with a paragraph or section thoroughly covering the adjacent topic.

High Potential Pages

High potential pages refers to pages that have high search volume. MarketMuse helps you identify these opportunities to create new content and build out a cluster.

Identifying High Potential Pages

  1. High Potential Pages List: Pages with the highest potential traffic gain appear at the top of the list,
  2. Business Alignment Check: Assess each item in the list to determine its continued importance and priority regarding your business goals.

Evaluation Process
