Creating supporting content (pages) to help an already well-performing page is a great way to expand and solidify your topic authority. Here’s how to do this using MarketMuse:
- Go to page inventory and sort by Topic Authority
- Find a page of interest and click on the Prioritize Topics icon in the Action Bar
- Review the list of topics associated with this page. Look for an appropriate topic that you have already covered on the page. It’s not the subject of the page, but you already have a paragraph or section that covers it.
- Click on the Prioritize Pages icon in the Action Bar to check if there’s any other page that is already the subject of this topic.
- Click on the Optimize Page & Topic Icon in the Action Bar to send it to Optimize.
- Remove the URL and content in the editor (since you’re not optimizing the page). Start creating your new content.
